Poem 18

Dream Land

Let me take you by the hand
And lead you to a beautiful land
Where flowers cascade down from each tree
And velvety meadows stretch as far as you can see

Streams of pure water flow out of sight
They gleam and sparkle as they catch the light
Of the soft sunbeams that warm the gentle breeze
And touch upon dewy flowers kissed by the bees

In the distance a misty forest beckons you
If you'll stay with me forever, we can go there too
But now let's stay among the roses
Whose hues are delightful, and their scents catch our noses

And we can watch a flitting butterfly
Here in this land away from all that makes us cry
We'll walk along moonlit lakes
More lovely than we can comprehend

And talk of the delightful days we can spend
Here in this land of our creation
Where we spend our days in love's elation
We'll venture into the woods, where the sun and leaves

Make exquisite patterns on the forest floor
We can explore and play as much as we please
And I know we'll be joyful forever more
